Equibase will offer free digital pocket PPs

Equibase Company, the official racing information database of the thoroughbred industry, today announced the launch of a pilot program, Pocket PPs, to offer free digital past performance records in a simplified 4×4 inch format. Sponsored by FanDuel, the Pocket PPs are available for all tracks and can be found via a link in the submissions section of equibase.com.

In addition to the basic entry information, the Pocket PPs display the horse’s last four races, with each line containing the date, race, race type, entry points and finishing position, along with abbreviated race description comments.
“A primary focus for Equibase is to look at ways we can use data to introduce new horseplayers to the sport without overwhelming them with complicated information about past performance,” said Kyle McDoniel, president of Equibase. “Our hope is that these simplified PPs will be a good starting point for disability and a stepping stone to other, more robust information.”
Users can find the Pocket PPs in the input section of equibase.com in addition to two other free tools: Entries Plus, which provides basic race performance information in an interactive, easy-to-digest format, and Smart Pick, which creates suggested betting tickets based on a set of user preferences.
Equibase Company is a partnership between affiliates of The Jockey Club and the Thoroughbred Racing Associations of North America and serves as the official database of the Thoroughbred industry.
