Cindy Xiao provided seventh place in the Euro Mini Championships in France, while Amber Lemmon finished in the Top 20 and Hannah Saunders narrowly missed a similar finish.
The annual tournament in Schiligheim, saw 10 girls and boys represent England and recorded international players from the French regions. All players were born in 2012 or 2014 and more than 400 young athletes competed.

Xiao (shown above) was at the top of her group in three different group phases of the girls under 11, although she had a sticky moment in the second phase, from 2-0 down to beat Kriszta Ungvari of Romania 3-2 (5-11, 7-11, 11-6, 11-6, 11-1).
Xiao then won two knockout rounds before her run ended in the quarterfinals when she lost to Emily Wu van Switzerland with 3-1 (7-11, 14-12, 11-2, 11-4).
Then she lost to Juana Morales of Spain 15-13 in the fifth in the first play-of-8
In the same age group, however, Bethany Yang made it to the knockouts, where she was defeated by Morales in the round of 32. She lost her first game in the positional play-offs, but then won her last three games to finish in 25th place.
Saunders and Lemmon both went through three group stage to reach the main drawing of the girls under 13, where both were defeated in the last 32 saunders who had been 2-0 against Mila Niu of Germany.
Both then won their first positional play-off competition in the 17th-32nd bracket, and both were subsequently defeated by Emma Trascu van Hauts de France, before they ended up winning notes when Lemmon finished in 20th and Saunders 21st.
In the same category, ASSIL Sarri went out in the first group stage, although she lost two of her three games in the fifth. She went to the consolation group phase, where she won three out of four games to qualify for the knockouts, where she came through the first round and then went out in the last 16.
Rishaan Sawant and Sinan Sursoy looked good in the early stages of the boys under 13 years old, Sawant won all eight of his competitions, and Sursoy six out of eight, in the first three group phases.
However, they could not get through the fourth and final group stage and fell into the consolation Knockouts, where both went out in the round of 32.
In the boys under the 11, Lusio Wen and Sai Prasanna Kumar fought through three group phases, with Prasanna Kumar particular impression on seven victories in eight games.
Both, however, went out in the fourth and final group stage and had to settle for a place in the head of the consolation. Wen went out in the round of 32 and Prasanna Kumar in the round of 16.
Thomas Ellis went into the second group stage and fell in the consolation group phase, where he was a pity not to earn a place in the next phase when he won four of the five games, but went out on Countback.
