If they do, the Lionesses will be the first non-German team that repeats as Euro winners since the start of the tournament four decades ago.
A victory for Wiegman and Co would also mark the second major senior title of England in sports in three years after a drought of a trophy of more than half a century.
For Spain, the victory on Sunday would mean a first euro triumph and they only make the third nation that both the World Cup for women and the European championship titles have at the same time.
Norway became the first to reach that specific honor in 1995, by winning the global tournament in the summer before they unsubscribe their euro crown to Germany a few months later. The National Team – who have won a record eight times the euros – were then holders of both trophies from 2003 to 2011, when they members an early elimination of their home cup in the hands of the final champions Japan.

The Lionesses are waiting for news about the availability of Lauren James, after the Chelsea Forward was replaced during the rest of the semi -final victory over Italy with an ankle problem. Beth Mead took her place in that draw and won the penalty that led to England’s decisive goal in extra time, so the direct replacement on Sunday can be again if James misses.
Chloe Kelly will also hope to be eligible for a starting spot, but, after he has inspired comebacks from the bank in two straight matches for Sarina Wiegman.
The same applies to the 19 -year -old AGYEMANG, although Wiegman – rarely one to make frequent tweaks to her starting XI – probably to keep the Arsenal -Teenager as an impact subn.
England skipper Leah Williamson started in the meantime and completed 85 minutes against Italy after overcoming an ankle injury in the quarterfinals. Her late replacement in Tuesday’s semi -final is supposed to have only been tactical, whereby the lionesses are still haunting the game at that time.
Elsewhere in the English back line, Esme Morgan’s Wiegman’s only change in the line-up for the semi-final, to replace Jess Carter in a tactical movement. Morgan had a tidy enough outing, so it will be the boss’s call whether he should stay or have to run again.

Spain goalkeeper Cata Coll missed the group stage because of tonsillitis, but returned for the quarterfinals victory of her country in host country Switzerland, and was also solid between the posts against Germany in the semi-final.
It meant that the suspended defender Laia Aleixandri was the only absentee in the semi -final on Wednesday compared to the previous round, with Maria Mendez chosen by Montse Tome for partner captain Irene Paredes in the backline.
Salma Paralluelo and Athenea del Castillo both made noticeable consequences after being introduced in the second half for Claudia Pina and Esther Gonzalez.
Indeed, it was del Castillo that the pass-out for Bonnii played to end from a tight corner in the otherwise exceptional Ann-Katrin Berger’s Near Post in extra time.
There is a chance that both can have a shot at the starting XI if Tome assumes a change for the final.
England versus Spain forecast
It is a rematch of the World Cup Final 2023, which won Spain 1-0. England has since defeated the Spaniards and – despite their own shortcomings against Italy – it can be comforting that it took the Tome team for so long to eventually split up the Germans on Thursday.
With revenge for two years ago a factor and a title defense on the line, the Leeuwessen can just win a victory in Basel.

England has a positive record of head-to-head against Spain despite losing the World Cup final 2023, one of the only four victories of the Spanish women against the English in history. The others arrived in the Nations League in June, then 2020 and 2013 before that.
