Day 2 of the fifth test between England and India in the oval witnessed 15 wickets who fell over three sessions. India, despite a collapse in the morning, bounced back through a sensational bowling effort and ended the day with a 52-run lead.

CV -Day 2 on 204/6, India was bundled for 224 and added only 20 points in less than 30 minutes. Gus Atkinson completed his five-wicket Trek and turned the tail. The second innings of India started with Yashasvi Jaiswal who scored an unbeaten 51 of 49 balls and hit seven and two sixes. Kl Rahul and Sai Sudharsan fell cheap, but India still finished 75/2 at stumps. Umpires called stumps because of poor light after Ollie Pope refused the option to continue spin -bowling.
