Taijul Islam’s spectacular bowling brilliance against Ireland
Islam was the star with the ball. He bowled a marathon of 35.3 overs in Ireland’s first innings, conceding just 76 runs while taking four crucial wickets. His impact became stronger in the second innings where he again claimed 4 wickets for 104 runs from 40 overs, repeatedly troubling the Irish batters with his clever drift and dip variations.
Taijul struck early to remove key hitters Andy Balbirnie And Paul Stirling within the first eight overs, reducing Ireland to 26/2 early in their chase. He continued to torment the middle order and became Bangladesh’s leading Test wicket-taker by overachieving Shakib Al-Hasan‘s record and finished the match with a total of 8 wickets. His clever bowling effectively dismantled the Irish batting line-up and suppressed any hopes they had of a successful chase.

Bangladesh’s impressive win over Ireland in 2i.e Test
Bangladesh set a mammoth target of 509 runs after declaring their second innings at 297 for 4, thanks to valuable contributions from Shadman Islam (78), This is a memory (87), and Mahmudul Hasan Joy (60). Ireland’s response was met with some resistance from lower order batters such as Curtis Kamperwho was top scorer with an unbeaten 71 in the second innings. However, Ireland faltered under pressure and lost wickets at regular intervals.
Despite some fighting punches such as Harry Tector‘s 50 in the second innings, the visitors could not avoid an innings defeat and were eventually bowled out for 291 runs, 217 runs short of the target. The combined efforts of Bangladesh’s spin quartet, with Taijul leading the way, saw the home side end the Test series 2-0 with an impressive performance.
