One of those hunters that leads the current charge is heavyweight champion, Elvis Moyo. Elvis Moyo is set for his first title defense on EFC 127 and will have the eyes of the world to see if he is a legitimate threat to be the world’s best heavyweight hunter.
Find the hunter
Fighters have several reasons for finding combat sports. For Elvis Moyo it was a matter of surviving the streets. “I was originally from a suburb where street fights was something daily. After I had not seen safety when running away, I thought better to enter a karate dojo. It was the best decision I have ever made. I have never looked back since then and never stopped,” Moyo told Mmasucka. Moyo comes from the Nkulumane suburb of Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.
As soon as Moyo decided to go all the way into combat sports, he had to surround himself around the right group of people to improve his skills. “Every trainer I have trained has somehow filled my cup with very important lessons. Five years of training with Gert Strydom helped me form me in this version,” said Moyo. “But my biggest transformation, I credit for a sponsorship of 18 months with Brunel Laboratories with the Elev8 tablet.”

Ensuring that all aspects of his game are at their best, Elvis Moyo trains in many of the best gyms in South Africa. He trains with Matias Diaz from La Maravilla Combat Gym and also spends time with Leo Gloss of Gloss Boxing. Gloss himself is a veteran from EFC worldwide, with 88% of his career -s victories that come through Knock -Out. His judo skills are tightened under Themba Khumalo and Vandam in Kazuno Judo Gym in Johannesburg, South Africa.
An EFC worldwide product
For more than ten years, Moyo has been a product of the EFC Worldwide Organization. Moyo has not only been a dedicated hunter for the organization, but since day one of his professional career, Moyo has fought for EFC worldwide. His professional career at EFC comprises in March 2014 from EFC Africa 28 to conquer the world championship at EFC 122 in April 2025.
After winning a victory in his debut, Moyo would come across a few roadblocks and asked to 1-2 in his professional career. From August 2014 to February 2015, Moyo would win three consecutive attacks with two of those who come through Knockout. After a loss at EFC Worldwide 40, Moyo would again browse three more victories, one of those periods that takes place on Ganryujima 4 in July 2016. From October 2016 to September 2018, Moyo would see his career on a bit of a roller coaster, with a very heavy competition.
Return to the fight
After he had not participated in the EFC cage for 2,407 days, Moyo made his long -awaited return to EFC 122 in April 2025. Not only was he looking for a victory after a dismissal, but Moyo wanted the EFC Worldwide Heavyweight Championship of Knockout -catches. Morel did not respond to championship rounds and could not leave his chair and gave Moyo the championship crown that he so deserved.

Long live the heavyweight king
After beating the champion, Moyo believes that the division is his to conquer for years to come. “After I have disabled HHH force [Matunga Djikasa] I don’t see really good challengers coming on spectacular fashion. They had no answers for Morel that I resigned after seven years. I very much doubt that someone will be worthy, “said Moyo.
