While we are looking ahead to the future, Pena certainly still seems interested in the belt. Before that time, however, Harrison and Nunes seem to be out of compete in a superfight for the centuries, and nobody really knows how it will work.
In a recent interview, Pena gave her thoughts about the next steps in her own career, as well as the threatening Harrison vs Nunes showdown.
Pena’s opinion about Harrison/Nunes Superfight
“I think a trilogy with Amanda would be the best case scenario just because we have shared so much time in the Octagon, but then I would also like to fight Kayla again because I know I can beat her,” said Peña on “the Ariel Helwani show.”
“I feel that I have seen the circumstances I have confronted for these injuries that I tried to come over and to come in and actually fight the octagon, I think if I could get healthy in a fighting camp having all these injuries, I can beat her. I know I can do it.”
“I have not seen anyone else say that they want to fight Amanda or Kayla except me,” said Peña. “I am willing to fight one of them. If I could jump in an immediate rematch with one of them, I think this would be the best scenario. I don’t see any roadblocks, but maybe the promotion has other ideas. I don’t know for sure.”
“My head says Amanda, and my heart says Kayla, so I don’t know,” said Peña. “May the best woman win. I have nothing personally against one of them.”
