This historic achievement surpasses EIL’s own previous record of 4,027 meters on the Ganga River, achieved under the same project, and validates EIL’s technical excellence, innovation and execution capabilities in the most challenging terrains, the company said.
The drilling operation is part of the Paradip-Numaligarh Crude Oil Pipeline (PNCPL) project.
PNCPL – a 1,635 km strategic energy corridor being developed for the Numaligarh Refinery (NRL) – will transport imported crude oil from Paradip port to Assam, via Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal and the Northeast.
This critical infrastructure will strengthen India’s energy security, support refinery expansion and drive significant regional economic growth and employment.
This is a proud moment for EIL in delivering excellence for a project of national importance. The successful implementation of this complex pipeline infrastructure marks an important step towards the development of the North East and the country as a whole.
This achievement was made possible with the strong support of the NRL team and the dedicated efforts of our executing contractor and stakeholders.
EIL, a public sector undertaking under the administrative control of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG), is a leading engineering consultancy providing concepts for commissioning services in the oil and gas, petroleum, refining, ferrous and non-ferrous, fertilisers, infrastructure and renewable energy sectors.
