EHL: Matla reaches the milestone of 200 goals

Frédérique Matla became the eighth woman to score 200 goals in the big league when her double helped Den Bosch 2025 with an optimistic 9-2 victory over Tilburg.

It was a difficult first half of the competition for the Brabant club, which is in fourth place this season after twelve rounds.

And in the first quarter they were tied at 1-1 as Sanne Koolen and Sanne Koks exchanged goals before kicking off.

Matla’s historic 200e goal made it 4-1 in the 21stst minute with a signature backhand shot and then she added another from Joosje Burg’s assist.

She is now on 201 goals; former Den Bosch team mate Maartje Paumen leads the list on 368 goals with Kim Lammers on 319. The others on the list are Lisanne Lejeune (265), Mijntje Donners (263), Helen Lejeune-Van de Ben (232), Ageeth Boomgaardt (207) and Caia van Maasakker (204).

According to statistics on the Tulp Hoofdklasse website, Matla has scored 91 of her 201 goals in the Oosterplas.

Her total includes 87 field goals, 92 penalty corners and 22 penalty strokes; 163 of her goals came from the forehand, 38 from the backhand.

Pinoké is her favorite victim with 30 goals against. She also scored her very first big league goal against that club, as a 16-year-old in the 5-1 home win on March 10, 2013.

Elsewhere in the competition, SCHC topped the table with 32 points after their 6–1 away win over HDM, leaving them six points ahead of SV Kampong, whose match was postponed due to weather.

AH&BC Amsterdam is third with 24 points, one above Den Bosch.
