Anthony Joshua is one of the best and most talented heavyweights of his generation and that much is clear. That said, many are eager to see him take on more legitimate competition in the wake of recent victories over the likes of Francis Ngannou and, most notably, Jake Paul.

However, Joshua was recently involved in a road accident that killed two of his close friends. Understandably, he has made the decision to take some time away from the sport and recover, both physically and mentally.
In a recent interview with Boxing Scene, his promoter Eddie Hearn provided an update on when we can realistically expect to see Joshua back in the ring.
Hearn discusses Joshua’s possible comeback timeline
“Originally the plan with ‘AJ’ was that he would fight in March and then fight Tyson Fury in August,” Hearn told BoxingScene. “That’s not happening. He’s not fighting Tyson Fury anymore. He’ll be back, I believe, in late summer, but he’s not physically in a position to return to camp yet.”
“So I’m planning, but he’s just resting and preparing. So for me, I’m looking at options to get him back in the ring in July, but we won’t know if that’s a real possibility until he returns to camp, which will hopefully be in the next few weeks or a month.”
