Eddie Hearn focuses on TKO and Dana White for trying to change the Ali Act

Eddie Hearn is not very fond of Dana White’s desire to dismantle the Ali -Act.

In anticipation of the collision between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford on Saturday, White came back and forth with journalist Sean Zissel about the UFC CEO plans to tear the act apart to protect Boxers against unscrupulous promoters.

White eventually refused to answer the asked question and welcomed sitting tiles to set up a one-on-one interview before he called him unnecessarily an “A ** hole” to close their exchange.

Eddie Hearn responds to Dana White’s attack on the Ali Act

Hearn offered his view of the interaction between White and Zissel and offered his opinion about why White is so planning to make changes to a federal law that serves to protect hunters.

“The question is, why do you try to have the Muhammad Ali -Act changed or deleted?” Hearn told Ariel Helwani. “The strange thing about that action is that at every show you have to explain the income of the event on the map to the map, which is quite unique. There is not really a problem with that in the boxing world because a considerable part of the income is paid to the athlete … I think fighters are paid too much because they relate to the UFC and MMA talent.”

The Muhammad Ali Boxing Reform Act is first introduced in 1999 and carried out on 26 May 2000, changes the Professional Boxing Safety Act 1996 to protect professional boxers against exploitation by honest contracts, transparency in profit, separation of roles between promoters and objective rating criteria.

The law was adopted in response to widespread abuse of boxers through exploitation, ramped rankings and fixed competitions.

As it looks now, promoters are not allowed to establish their own championship authorities or keep exclusive contracts that can limit the freedom of a hunter to negotiate with other promoters. A proposed piece of legislation partly sponsored by the Republican Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick, however, could all possibly change that, so that the road is cleared for White to bring its UFC model to the world of professional boxing.
