Las Vegas – Kurtis Campbell from Liverpool has arrived in the UFC. Focus on the theme “Pink Panther”.
The featherweight, which derives its name from the colorful cat, completed Demba Seck this week in a round in the Contender series. You will be forgiven if you look at Campbell and see no hunter, with his coke bottle glasses and modest looks. Don’t worry, it is used to it.
“Everyone sees the glasses, everyone sees the top node. I just didn’t get my pink shorts tonight, so hopefully I get that in the future,” Campbell (8-0) noticed with media, including Cageside Press. “As much as I was the favorite tonight, everyone always thought I was the underdog.”
“I’m always at the end.”
Pink Panther, Pink Shorts? Why, however? “The pink shorts is where it is. Believe me. Get them pink bows and then I will show you what it is about,” Campbell joked. At another point he admitted that his father had dared to wear him, bet he would not go with the hot Pink Fight Shorts. Instead, looking for Phil “Mr. Wonderful” Davis, Campbell rolled with it and quickly chose to turn the Pink Panther into his brand.
Thanks to its scouser -accent, Campbell will undoubtedly be compared with another UFC star from Liverpool, Paddy Pimblett. The pair trains in different gyms; “They are all high -quality boys,” Campbell said about the Pimblett team. “I have nothing but respect for all those guys there. We are all from one city, you know what I mean and at the end of the day Liverpool get up. That’s what we are doing. We are just a small fighting city, and we come and we put ourselves on the map.”
When asked about a debut date and location, Kurtis Campbell had no in mind on Tuesday. “I really don’t know. At the end of the day, when my coaches, my manager says I’m ready, I’m back. London would be nice, but I can’t lie, I enjoyed traveling.”
In particular, Campbell seems to enjoy Las Vegas. Yet he added: “Everywhere, always. Put us on the map, we were built for that.”
