The Dodgers have been heavily linked to Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal and could look to acquire the starter via trade before the end of the offseason to expand their rotation. According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, the Tigers had serious conversations with several teams about Skubal during the Winter Meetings.
Elsewhere in the Dodgers’ rotation, Yoshinobu Yamamoto will be available for the World Baseball Classic and will pitch for Team Japan in the upcoming tournament.
On the other end of the spectrum, however, Roki Sasaki will not be making an appearance for Team Japan. The 24-year-old spent most of the season on the injured list, and the Dodgers likely don’t want to risk further setbacks for the youngster.
