Two-time Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani produced one of the greatest single-game postseason performances of all time in Friday’s Game 4 win over the Milwaukee Brewers, wowing both his team and fans.
Ohtani had a special night at the plate and on the mound, hitting three home runs and striking out 10 batters over six shutout innings. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts wasted no time in showering Ohtani with praise after his performance.
“That was probably the best postseason performance of all time,” Roberts said. “There’s been a lot of post-season games. And there’s a reason why he’s the best player in the world.”
“What he did on the mound, what he did with the bat, he created a lot of memories for a lot of people. So when we have a game-clinching – to do it in a game-clinching game at home, the NLCS MVP wins, pretty special. I’m just happy to be along for the ride.”

Ohtani hit his first home run to lead off the first inning, then went deep for the second time in the bottom of the fourth inning. His second home run was his longest of the season at 449 feet and cleared the right field pavilion.
“That’s the farthest ball I’ve ever seen it hit,” Muncy said. “I’ve seen a lot of games here at Dodger Stadium and that’s not even close. It’s the farthest ball I’ve ever seen hit.”
“It’s kind of funny. There wasn’t one person in the dugout that didn’t think he was going to hit a home run. He hits the second one and we’re all talking, ‘Is this the best game anyone’s ever played?’ Everyone said at the same time, “You know he’s going to hit another one.”

And he hit another, leaving the yard for the third time in the bottom of the seventh inning. This was Ohtani’s sixth multi-homer game of the season, and his first with three home runs in 2025.
Ohtani struggled at the plate in the postseason leading up to Friday’s game, and the Dodgers will be happy that he appears to be his usual self as they head into the World Series. Their opponent has not yet been decided, as the Seattle Mariners and Toronto Blue Jays still have games to play in the ALCS. Regardless of their opponent, the World Series begins Friday, October 24.
