Day 2 of the Under-23 European Baseball Championship in the Czech Republic contained a bit of everything, included huge offensive performances, dominant pitching and important defenses. Israel – France
In the first game of the day, Israel and France both came to Quick Starts, with the score at 3-2 in favor of the French after one inning. Each club placed two runs in the middle third before Israel was right in the sixth. With games at the U23 level that only seven innings lasted, it took eight, with Mathis Meurant – to start shortstop for the University of Arizona – a base stroke to walk with baseball France in the bottom of the eighth. Meurant who plays for the WAS 4-out-5 with two doubles from the Leadoff place, while brother Tanguy Meurant closed the game with 2.2 innings shutout relief for the victory. Jake Arnow hit 2-out-4 with a double for Israel.

Czech Republic – France
Immediately after this competition, the deferred competition was closed from day 1, with the hosts from behind to beat France, 7-5. After taking a 2-1 in the first, the Czech Republic gave three to the French in the second. A third third third was the score on 5-4 France, but the Czechs gilded two in the fourth and added another in the sixth to win 7-5. No Czech had more than one hit, while Mathis Meurant remained hot and 3-out-4 ended with two points. Miguel López and Esteban Briones also had three hits for the French. Vojtěch Ventruba came enormously for the home team and threw four Shutout -Innings without walks and four strikeouts.

Austria – Germany
Austria came back from a 1-0 deficit to Germany by two with a large, four-run third, out for a 7-2 victory. Julian Faulhaber tore a triple and a hit of two base, who rode in five for the victors, while Darrion Richards, Luca Hörger and Tobias Maul all had a few beats for Germany. Five pitchers pulled the rubber for baseball Austria.

The Netherlands – Italy
The penultimate game of the day was the wildest, with heavyweights the Netherlands and Italy went to toe to toe for a 26-run eruption. The Dutch took a 3-0 lead by two, but the Italians placed five in the bottom of the second. After a fourth run for the Netherlands, the Italians answered four more, so that the score placed at 9-4 to three. After a scoreless fourth, the baseball players broke out for five points in the fifth, a quartet in the sixth and three in the last frame of the game. After a single run for Italy, the Netherlands claimed the Slugfest with a margin of 16-10.

For the Netherlands, Leadoff Hitter Dionne Marlin went a striking 5-out-6 with a double and five RBI and scored twice. Sem Kuijper had two Doubles and a walk, while Raphael Smeenk had three singles and drove into a trio. Jamie Beerman tore a double and a single, pinching four, while Raydley Legito had a few two-baggers. Luca van Gorkum and Miquel Willem also had two hits for the victors. The result led to the Dutch of a semi -final, but will also prevent Italy from playing for a medal and, incredibly, has to fight to prevent relegation.

Great -Britain – Czech Republic
After all the runs in the previous game, the Matchup of Great Britain with the Czech Republic was a pitched game, with the Czechs that first stood out. In the opening frame, a one-out mistake Šimon Klacl allowed. Michal Šindelka and Jan Postpíšil followed with singles to score a point. A nice throw from the British midfielder Jackson Kraemer to Werper Oliver Duthie Ving Šindelka on his way to third place, with third Honkman Quinn all who applied the tag.

The same cast of characters produced two more runs at the bottom of the third, after a lead -off single by Šimon Drápela. Klacl ran, Šindelka once again hit a single and Pospíšil rode the first two runners with a run-scoring single. Again, Great Britain ended up a meeting early, this time when First-Sacker Jackson Wallis hit a dirty fly and threw Duffie on 1B for the double game.

That was all the attacks for both teams, because Jan Kozel was exceptional for the home team, hit five in the same number of frames and only passed three hits and no free passes for the victory. Filip Kollmann sniffed around a walk in two shutout frames for the Save. Duthie went four in the loss, allowing two earned points, while Edward Taylor ended up with a few scoreless frames.
