Dillon Danis won the first Misfits MMA light heavyweight championship in August when he defeated Warren Spencer. This fight only lasted 15 seconds (not a typo) before Danis choked out his opponent and silenced some of his haters.

Dillon Danis vs. Anthony Taylor – Grudge Match?
Following the Misfits announcement, fans were reminded that Dillon Danis and Anthony Taylor have history. In a scuffle in a parking lot, Taylor started a brawl with Danis, pushing him. After much pushing and shoving between the two men’s entourages, Taylor landed a clear punch to Danis’ chin.
It sent the champion tumbling backwards and the altercation will no doubt be brought up during the pre-fight hype.

Taylor is the much more experienced MMA fighter with 12 fights under his belt. He debuted for Bellator in 2015 and while he hasn’t fought since 2020, he has been active in several combat sports disciplines. He has four exhibition boxing matches, six professional boxing fights and four professional Misfits fights under his belt. Most recently, he was brutally eliminated by Darren Till.
Misfits Mania – The Fight Before Christmas
Dillon Danis vs. Anthony Taylor will compete in ‘Misfits Mania – The Fight Before Christmas’ on December 20 from Dubai.
Headlining the card will be controversial social media personality and former kickboxer Andrew Tate. He takes on Chase DeMoor, the Misfits Heavyweight Champion.
Whether Misfits should be involved with Tate is certainly questionable. In May this year, 21 charges were filed against Tate and his brother Tristan, including rape, actual bodily harm and human trafficking. He is never far from controversy and his ‘brand’ of toxic masculinity is arguably not suitable for Misfits, who have a younger audience.
