There were many expectations with regard to Rohit Sharma Continuation of India’s ODI captain for the upcoming ODI series of three games against Australia. The Board of Control for Cricket in India, however, recently appointed Shubman Gill as the full-time ODI skipper.
Rohit changed the landscape of Indian 50-over cricket with a Captainincy and a general approach with the bat. When he secured the full -time role in December 2021, Rohit had sworn to improve the dressing room culture and the mentality of the team, not to concentrate on individual milestones and always keep the team first.
His ODI record as a captain and player was beautiful. Rohit won 75% (winning 42 out of 56 games) against the ODIs he led. He also excelled with the bat and took the extra responsibility to increase the running speed of the team. He registered 2506 runs in 55 innings with an average of 52.20 and strike speed of 111.97 respectively.
India Recently the 2025 Champions Trophy won under Rohit. This came a few months after the men in Blue won the T20 World Cup 2024 led by Rohit. Social media responded to the change in captain and emphasized the contributions of Rohit and his statistics. Rohit rightly earned widespread praise for earlier exploits.

Remember that if Rohit Sharma is put aside of the ODI side, she will eventually push Kohli outside and to be honest, I am simply not ready for that. Both have done so much for Indian Cricket, they deserve a respectful output. When they are forced, it will only be hatred and a huge invitation

I hope that management knows who they replace, the one who brought glory back to India. I really have no problem with Shubman Gill leading India, but with 2027 ODI World Cup income, the plan is not entitled to my Rohit Sharma has not let go of stones, hurts.

For me, Rohit Sharma’s Captainincy Legacy will be how he reinvented his game so late in his career. After the T20 WC -debacle of 2022 he spoke about attacking, and he led the road and in the largest stages – the two world cups. OFC, the two toilet runs will always be special.
