Terriers received a commitment from the son of the former BU captain, All-American and Nhler on Thursday Freddy Meyer IVBut it was not the name that fans had expected. The dedication came from Freddy Meyer, V., a little end of ’07 and an emerging junior defender at the Rivers School in Weston, Massachusetts, where his father is head coach. Ryan Sikes van PuckPreps reports that he becomes a member of BU’s 2027 Recruit Class.
His younger brother, center Carter Meyerone of the Top ranked, born in the US 09SWho will play for the NTDP U17s this season, it is expected that it will soon be committed. However, that should wait until he completes his acceleration until Junior in high school, an NCAA requirement to enter into a university spent.
Freddy, a smaller (5’9 “) left-shot defender like his father, was last season of River-scoring Blueliner with 22 points (2G, 20a). He had 14 points as a first-year student. Net Jay ParolfoWhose son Sam also skated for rivers before his selection for the U17s.
After the upset victory of Rivers on #3 St. Mark’s (coached by Carl CorazziniA BU teammate of the Elder Meyer) Last season New England wrote Hockey Journal:
Meyer has been one of the biggest breakout defenders in Prep this season. He was vital for Rivers who won Wednesday. He helped Rivers’ first goal with a nice shot from the point. His biggest game came in the last seconds. St. Mark’s pulled Brisbois to get the extra man. Macpherson had the puck in the lock and an open shot, but Meyer slid over and blocked the shot, denied the chance and eventually led to the goal of Pandolfo. Meyer is also a rare case of a Puck-Moving, casual defender who in one way or another makes no essential mistakes.
Freddy was prepared by Ushl Sioux City last spring. It is uncertain whether he goes back to Rivers for his junior season or goes to the Ushl. With Carter accelerating, however, there is a strong chance that both brothers will arrive at Agganis Way in September 2027.
If that is achieved, it is the fourth time this century that the brothers of different ages have been added to the terriers at the same time. The others are Macklin & Aiden Celebrini” Lane & Quinn Hutson And
Vinny & Victor Saponari, who skated at BU’s National Champions 2009.
