Defending champion looks strong again when YBCL returns – Table Tennis England

London Academy and Grantham Academy are again the teams to beat because they strive for four and three consecutive youth British Clubs League, Premier Division titles respectively.

The London side will feel confident, with the No. 3, 5 and 5-rated players in their team in the form of Sophie Barcsai, Sienna Jetha and Maliha Baig.

The challenge could be from Grantham College, who has a multicultural line-up led by No. 2 Junior and England Senior International Ella Pashley and supplemented with Hannah Silcock in Jersey (Dummy Rating 3) and Wales’ Lowri Hurd (no. 7).

Draycott can have no 5 Mabel Shute and Noami Coker, who has a dummy rating of No. 8, while Cippenham has two top 10 players in Rachael Iles and Mia Lakhani.

Greenhouse and Birmingham, led by Jonabel Taguibao (no. 9) and Brooke Morris (no. 12), complete the selection of six teams.

In the boys’ competition, Grantham Abraham Sellado, fresh of his appearance in the Europe Youth Top 10, is next to Isaac Kingham and Aarav Parihar for an all top 10-rated line-up.

They are probably challenged by Fusion, who do not have 3 Junior Larry Trumpus’ as their spearhead, supported by No. 5 Rohan Dani – a recent silver medal winner on the WTT youth circuit – and Francesco Bonato.

No 1 Junior Max Radiven leads the Ebatt team, while Woodford Wells Benjamin has Zijadic, with a no. 3 Dummy rating and no. 10 Adam Albhai in their ranks.

Joola Plymouth, led by Twins Leo and Hugo Nguyen, and Draycott, with no 9 Junior Zac GreenHOUG, completes the division.

With 15 divisions and more than 360 players, it will be a full weekend in Derby Arena and satellite location Draycott & Long Eaton TTC.
