Table tennis England and goals work together to offer opportunities to children and young people in England to play table tennis.

Through the holiday activities and Food (HAF) funded holiday activities program supplied by Doelen, table limits are delivered to more than 1,000 children and young people throughout England, which means they are introduced into sport.

Participants in every holiday activities program also design a table tennis what brings the sport to life and celebrates the WTT star media London, which will be in the Copper Box Arena from 21-26 October. A selection is picked and converted into trophies that are handed out at every holiday program. A number of free tickets for the Star -Competent will also be distributed among children participating in HAF camps in London.

Andrew Wilesmith, director of Development, said: “We are pleased to work with goals to bring the sport to life in the HAF camps and also to use art to bring the sport to life and to celebrate the WTT starter to London.

“We will see that some of the world’s best players come to the copper box in October and it is crucial that we collaborate with local partners to bring this to life in local communities in England. This is the start of a wider and larger social impact program around large tables of tennis events that are organized in this country to create the sport of people in England.

Martin Cassidy, National Football Development Officer at goals, said: “During our HAF camps in the past year I noticed that table tennis became one of the most popular activities we offered. It was fantastic to see that parents were involved – many came to their children for a game that really brought together family.

“I saw firsthand how contagious the pleasure was at some clubs, we even had to bring in extra tables to meet the demand!

“This summer we are launching a ‘Design A Table Tennis Bat’ competition Inspired by the success of our previous design match for football kit. The winning bat design will be converted into a tailor -made trophy that the child can keep forever – a special reminder of their creativity and involvement.

“We are pleased to work with table tennis England in such an exciting time for the sport.”
