Grab your flashlight for emotional support! Season five of ‘Stranger Things’ is about to get chaotic. Part one is finally here! Cancel your plans, because who doesn’t like a little weirdness on a Friday night? Deco spoke to the cast about the ending, ’80s nostalgia and cats.
The fifth and final season of ‘Stranger Things’ is streaming on Netflix.
At least the first four episodes.
The cast tells Deco that it…
Maya Hawke: “Better than I could have imagined.”
Gaten Matarazzo: “Just a whole bunch of emotions.”
Joe Keery: “Pressure cooker.”
Natalia Dyer: “Intense.”
Finn Wolfhard: “Everyone’s hearts are holding tight, their childhood is about to die.”
Maya Hawke: “This season is going to be so great and I’m so proud. It’s so hard to be strong and I think we did that.”
Finn Wolfhard: “The stakes were high.”
Gaten Matarazzo: “The stakes were pretty high.”
Charlie Heaton: “Everyone put their heart into it.”
Alex: “Who dies?”
Charlie Heaton: “Right, well…”
Maya Hawke: “Wouldn’t you like to know?”
With the city under military quarantine, the Hawkins gang must find and kill Vecna, the source of powerful, deadly rifts.
Gaten Matarazzo: “They’ve always been personally bullied over the years, but it feels different this time, especially because they’re going in without the upper hand. Not that they’ve ever really had it, but this year it has been significantly, and it’s a little scary.”
As for what will happen next for each character, lips are sealed.
Sadie Sink: “It’s just…”
Caleb McLaughlin: “Lucas is a soldier, ambitious, he has a desire for revenge.”
Finn Wolfhard: “Mike is very motivated to end this painful chapter for everyone.”
Gaten Matarazzo: “Dustin is in a bit of an emo era. He has a new aesthetic, he’s into new music. He’s a bit [expletive].”
The experience has been life-changing.
Natalia Dyer: “Everyone has a bond by making this together.”
Especially for Natalia Dyer and Charlie Heaton, a real couple.
Natalia Dyer: “We started this journey together and all these years we have been able to work together, grow up together, it is profound, it is truly special and we will always be grateful for that.”
But what about the ’80s, do the cast wish they grew up with it?
Maya Hawke: “Walk by your friend’s house to see if he or she is home.”
Natalia Dyer: “Totally.”
Joe Keery: “Parents don’t know where you are.”
Maya Hawke: “No technology.”
Natalia Dyer: “No one is demanding to contact you, angry that you don’t respond.”
Charlie Heaton: “That’s the thing,
And speaking of monsters, star Gaten Matarazzo has two.
Alex: “Now that I am a cat dad myself, I am even more interested in Joan and Jett.”
Gaten Matarazzo: “Oh my god, this is delicious.”
Alex: “Which one deserves to be upside down more often?”
Finn Wolfhard: “Easy Jett. Jett would come up.”
Gaten Matarazzo: “I love him, he’s my little guy, he’s my man. It’s always the old cat.”
Season five of ‘Stranger Things’ will be released in three parts on Netflix. The first four episodes are currently streaming, with the next part releasing on Christmas Day and the final part on New Year’s Eve.
