With just two weeks to go until the Nitto ATP Finals, the PIF ATP Live Race To Turin reaches a climax. ATPTour.com looks at the movers of the week from Monday 27 October, following ATP 500 events in Basel and Vienna.
Alex de Minaur – seventh (3,745 points)
The Australian has consolidated his place at seventh in the PIF ATP Live Race To Turin after reaching his fifth tour-level semi-final of the season in Vienna. De Minaur didn’t drop a set en route to the last four before losing to eventual champion Jannik Sinner in straight sets. Sinner leads De Minaur 12-0 in the pair’s Lexus ATP Head2Head series.
De Minaur will next compete in Paris and could qualify for the prestigious end-of-year event this week. The 26-year-old is aiming for his second successive appearance in Turin and is currently 540 points ahead of ninth-placed Felix Auger-Aliassime, who is the first player to be left out of the cut.
Lorenzo Musetti – eighth (3,685)
Musetti achieved a crucial 200 points in his quest to qualify for the Nitto ATP Finals in Vienna, where he reached the semi-finals. The Italian defeated Hamad Medjedovic, Tomas Martin Etcheverry and Corentin Moutet at the ATP 500 event and is now 480 points ahead of Auger-Aliassime. Musetti hopes to make his debut at home in Turin and join compatriot Jannik Sinner in Italy.
Felix Auger-Aliiassime – ninth (3,205)
After winning the title in Brussels, Auger-Aliassime’s quest in Basel ended in the quarter-finals when he was forced to retire from the hard-court event due to injury. Auger-Aliassime will need a deep run in Paris if he wants to work his way into the Top 8. There are 250 points available after Paris in Athens and Metz.
Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, Novak Djokovic and Alexander Zverev have already qualified for the Nitto ATP Finals, which will take place from November 9 to 16 at the Inalpi Arena in Turin.
