David Ortiz was more than happy to poke his arch-rival, the Yankees, on Sunday after the Bronx bombers were 0-2 in the ALS to the Blue Jays.
Sitting between Yankee Greats Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez on the MLB on Fox Set, the Red Sox Legand had some fun with the moment by the two of the chances of the Yankees to gather to gather to win the series after their 13-7 game 2-loss in Rogers Center.
“They can bring Jesus back and they are still going to Cancun,” said Ortiz, insinuating the Yankees went on their way to an early low season. “It’s over. It’s a wrap, just what you know. This Toronto Blue Jays -Line -Up does not play.”
The remark made Rodriguez burst laughing, while Jeter also got a good chinny from the comment.
But Ortiz was not done there either.
The beloved former Red Sox star still had a shot to throw at his former enemies, who are now his broadcast teammates.
Jeter apparently tried to make a kind of positive comments when he looked at Ortiz, and immediately knew that Big Papi was preparing to make a joke.
“Say nothing,” tried to prevent Jeter before the desk burst again.
“Let me tell you,” Ortiz started again. “I love you so much, but the only chance the Yankees have is if you, [Mariano Rivera]Andy [Pettitte]And a-rod comes back and play. ‘
“Reggie Jackson, Babe Ruth, all,” Ortiz continued. “Joe Dimaggio … Roger Maris …”
The Yankees are about to elimination of the play -offs with game 3 that takes place on Tuesday in Yankee Stadium.
Things did not look good for the Yankees, who were surpassed 23-8 during the first two games of the series.
The collapse of the Yankees can be even sweeter for Ortiz, because his Red Sox was eliminated in the Wildcard in the wildcard in the wilds of their rivals.
