Darling Downtown Milwaukie for your consideration – Living Room Realty

For twenty years I have been hyping Milwaukie as an ideal location to move to. Located on the Willamette, with its own beautiful bay, downtown has always been cute, but now it really shines! So many new businesses have decided to make Milwaukie their home, from sewing shops to chocolatiers, bookstores and bulk goods, vintage records and antique furniture, even a sauna spa, many dining options and of course some of our favorite vintage standbys still exist too. The city has really put a lot of money into the parks and recreation facilities and the new library is really impressive. It’s all on a MAX streetcar line and bike path that takes you to PDX, but why ever leave?!

Attached are just a few photos, there is so much more! It is truly an idyllic city. If you are interested in houses or apartments in the area, send me a message!

She/her

A Portland native, Alyssa began her real estate career in the chaotic market of 2005 and quickly realized she enjoyed matching certain clients with their perfect home, no matter how unusual.

She then began specializing in mid-century properties – both modern and modest. More recently, she has added what she calls “Period-Perfect” houses to her repertoire. Her goal here is to look for those hard-to-find, unrenovated original homes from all eras. When I started in the real estate industry, I realized there was a market for ranch homes, from Mid-Century Modern to the more modest Daylight Ranch, but few REALTORS® were willing to service them. I began highlighting these “Picks of the Week” on my website, introducing enthusiasts to the full range of mid-century homes in Portland. In 2006, I founded the Mid-Century Modern League to educate the public about the importance of preserving these gemstones. Today I continue to focus on Mid-Mod, but have added vintage, largely unremodeled homes from earlier eras, which I call “Period-Perfect” because they are of interest to customers and are also substandardly maintained. To be honest, I enjoy looking for unusual or original elements that a client might be interested in, it’s a challenge to take on. As the founder of the Mid-century Modern League, Alyssa is considered an authority on the local mid-century architecture scene, and she is especially proud to include the editors of Atomic Ranch Magazine in her list of past clients. Often quoted in the news and on radio, she has been able to make her business, listings and client homes extra interesting – many of which have been featured in magazines such as Atomic Ranch, Oregon Home, The Oregonian and also included in several local home tours, and with an eye for the unique, Alyssa enjoys buying and selling properties whose interesting features are overlooked by other agents, even (or especially) if those features are not listed it is a major achievement. By the time she’s done, she’ll have seen every house in Portland with her own eyes! You can follow her walks on her blog Portland-by-Foot. http://portlandbyfoot.blogspot.com/ When she’s off duty, you can find Alyssa selling real estate, at honky tonks, on her friend’s cattle ranch, or exploring ghost towns on a road trip to Oregon’s high desert. Alyssa is heavily immersed in the western swing, old-school country, and rockabilly music scene, and you’ll often find her performing at shows, dancing, and maybe even sharing her favorites on the radio.
