The UFC is weeks away from returning to action after a long hiatus. Another major rivalry could emerge when Kayla Harrison and Amanda Nunes face off in the UFC 324 co-main event.
Harrison and Nunes are former teammates turned rivals. Nunes, who hasn’t fought since retiring at UFC 289, returns to the Octagon to potentially reclaim the women’s bantamweight throne.
UFC CEO Dana White looks ahead to what should be a busy 2026 for MMA and boxing. White’s latest venture will see Zuffa Boxing launch later this month.
Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov headlined one of the biggest cards in UFC history, culminating in an intense feud that continues to this day. But White believes one rivalry surpasses Nurmagomedov/McGregor as the greatest feud in the promotion’s illustrious past.
Dana White gives Jon Jones/Daniel Cormier the edge over other all-time UFC rivalries
In a recent interview with Barstool SportsWhite called Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier the biggest UFC rivalry over Khabib vs. McGregor.
“It would definitely be those two,” White said.
“They first fought in the lobby of the MGM. Yes, [Dave] Sholler ruined that one. The hardest part is that when you’re there, you’re not there for a photo. You’re there to make sure these guys don’t touch or disrespect each other. As soon as someone feels disrespected, they should do theirs.
“I don’t care who you are, you won’t stop them if some of these guys decide to go.” (h/t Bloody elbow)
Jones and Cormier reunited as coaches on ALF Reality 3, a Russian MMA reality TV show. The two-time rivals have teased a possible trilogy match in wrestling or boxing.
In either case, a third chapter in the Jones-Cormier rivalry could be a venture for White to pursue for Zuffa Boxing.
