Carlos Alcaraz continues his Cincinnati Masters-Bid against Lucky Loser Luca Nardi during the campaign of the fourth round on Wednesday. The Russian Andrey Rublev will also be on the field against Francisco Comesana.
(2) Carlos Alcaraz vs. (Ll) Luca Nardi
It may not feel like Carlos Alcaraz comes out of his loss in the final of Wimbledon, but the Spaniard has had a great year so far. He has five titles, and even at events that he does not win, he almost always brought his way to the business end of the tournament. Alcaraz is positioned to do the same this week. He had to shake a little rust after the victor in his opener against Damir Dzumhur, but he has been cruising since then.
It is unlikely that that will change in the fourth round. Luca Nardi tried to come up and eventually came into the main drawing as a happy loser. Nardi, arranged 98th in the world, was sounded well earlier this year by Alcaraz in Doha – their only other meeting. Search for the number 2 seed to cruise in this.

(9) Andrey Rublev vs. Francisco Comesana
Andrey Rublev is still looking for his first master’s title in 2025. The world no. 11 has had a difficult year, especially at the Majors, with results of the fourth round in Paris and at the All-England club. He came across a third-round game of 3+ hours against Alexei Pofyrin and he played well to do it, which is good for his chances of continuing to the quarters.

Argentina’s Francisco Comesana is number 71 in the world. He defeated Rublev the only other time that the two men played last year in the first round of Wimbledon. The 24-year-old still plays a Challenger event occasionally, where he enjoyed more success than during the main tour. Despite the inconsistent game of Rublev this season and his marathon against Pableyrin, unless he has a real collapse, the Russian has to Vooruit.
