Current star pedigrees on offer at the upcoming NZ Yearling Sale

Featuring NZB Standardbred Group One alumni including current racing starsArafura (NZ), Marketplace (NZ) and Republican Party (NZ) to name a few, buyers will be happy to the Karaka And Church sales space to find siblings for racetrack stars to be offered in just a few days during the 2026 edition of the National Yearling Sale.

Some notable siblings among the many offerings:

• Woodland Stud will offer Lot 71a full sister of Group One winner Freeze frame (NZ) (On the coast).
  

• Breckon Farms will present Lot 99. King of the North’s colt is a half-sister to recently crowned Trotter of the Year, Bet and win (NZ) (What the hill).

• Lot 107 is a full brother of the champion trotter Just believe (Orlando Vici), which will be offered by Hollis & Roberston Equine Services on behalf of Yabby Dam Farms.

• Lot 108 is a full brother of Higher power (NZ) (Father Patrick) by Group 1 winning mare High Gait (NZ) and will be presented by Breckon Farms.

• Lot 112a full sister to the double Group One Oaks and Harness Million heroine Coastal darling (NZ) is offered by Woodlands Stud.

• Ardgowan Lodge will present Lot 255a chestnut colt from the trotting sire Timo from Dwindle Mist (NZ), which has produced several Group One winners Harry Stamper (NZ) (Majestic son).

• Lot 271a foal of Down on the coast from Galleons Pleasure (NZ) is brought to you by Beaudine Breeding, making this a half-sister to Group One artist Treacherous bile (NZ) (Captain Treacherous)

  L.Smith will present Lot 289 for Taffy Ltd, a blue-blooded colt by Captain treacherous from Imaginary Bet (NZ) who produced Champion pacer Merlin (NZ) (Art Major), and winner of Group One Captain’s Mistress (NZ) (Captain Treacherous).

• A half-brother to Harness Million and winner of Group 1 Stella Rouge (NZ) (Bettor’s Delight) is brought to you by Dancingonmoonlight. Lot 295 is through American ideal.

• There is a unique opportunity to secure Lot 298a full sister of Group One star I have the chocolates (NZ) (Art Major) from the design of Rosedale Farm.

• Studholme Bloodstock will offer the first live foal of Group 1 winning star, True Fantasy (NZ) (Gambler’s delight). Lot 194 is a colt by Captaintreacherous.

• Lot 237 belongs to several winners from Group One Belle of Montana (NZ) (Gambler’s delight). The foal passes by Art major will be offered under the banner of Dunvegan Lodge.

NZB’S National Standardbred Yearling Sale 2026 will take place on Karaka on Monday, February 16 from 1:00 p.m Christchurch on Wednesday, February 18 from 11 a.m.

Buyers who want to purchase remotely can participate via the user-friendly NZB online bidding platform standardbred.bidonline.nzb.co.nz, while all buyers and agents are welcome to attend the sale in person in Karaka and Christchurch.

All horses purchased at the Sale are eligible for the lucrative NZB Standardbred prize Take advantage of the Million Sales Race Series. The Series consists of the premier two- and three-year-old races for colts and geldings, fillies and trotters individually, where NZB Standardbred graduates can compete for their share of a $1 million prize pool.
