CT 1200 Golf Rangefinder Review
CT 1200 Golf rangefinder
Grade: A
Teacher Comments: After using the external display for a while, I don’t know how I would have lived without it. It’s like having a second screen for your PC.

I had previously reviewed a Cigman CT-1000 laser rangefinder and thought it was a nice piece of technology at a very cheap price, so I was happy to get the chance to review the company’s latest offering.
The CT-1200 is also a relatively inexpensive golf rangefinder, but has a nice addition to its range: an external color display.
The color display is located on the side of the rangefinder and shows in big, bold numbers the distance to whatever target you’ve zapped. The eyepiece shows the same information – just like a standard rangefinder – but is so much easier to see from the side.
After using the CT-1200’s side screen a few holes, I started thinking about it the same way I did when I had two monitors on my PC: how did I ever get by without them?
Zap the target; look at the side of the CT-1200 rangefinder. Or… zap the target and keep staring at the little numbers in the eyepiece.
It’s not actually a competition. It’s so much easier to look at the big numbers on the side.
Aside from the side screen, the CT-1200 has the now usual array of features, including vibration feedback and a tilt switch. It has six selectable modes: slope compensation, straight distance, continuous scan, horizontal/vertical distance and speed mode.”
To be honest, I only use straight distance mode.
The optics of the device are good, with a magnification of 6x. I had no problem finding and capturing the flag.
Literature for the Cigman CT-1200 says it is effective out to 1312 yards. I think that would run from one end of the Washtenaw Golf Club to the other, so I’ll just have to take their word for it. At normal golf distances the CT-1200 certainly does its job.
The Cigman CT-1200 is rechargeable via USB.
The price is right for this rangefinder. At the time of writing this is the case $79.99 on Amazon.
If you’re looking for a rangefinder, this is something to consider.
