Crystal Palace -President Steve Parish has admitted that it will be ‘a problem’ if the club allows Marc Guehi to expire his contract.
Guehi has entered into Palace in the last 12 months of his deal and no progress has been made in a possible expansion.
The English international is subject to approaches of Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur in recent windows, while Liverpool is also interested in signing the middle back.
The latter are reluctant to meet Palace’s current asking price for Guehi, which will be available to a free transfer in 2026 if things are.
In recent years, Guehi has been a key figure for the South Londers, settled in the English team and helping the Eagles to FA Cup and Community Shield victories.
Palace does not want to lose the defender, but the parish has admitted that a resolution must be found in the coming weeks.

“Of course, for players of that caliber to leave freely, it is a problem,” Parish said after the victory of Crystal Palace in the Community Shield on Sunday.
“We had one bid last summer, but Joachim Andersen went to Fulham and we couldn’t afford to lose them both. We still had an offer in January, but that was a difficult situation, and the player had a position about it.
“So we just have to see what is happening, but it needs a new contract or a kind of conclusion.”
