Former Arsenal and Chelsea defender William Gallas has criticized Manchester United for spending “crazy” money to Bryan Mbeumo this summer.
The Cameroon International joined Brentford in July, for what an initial £ 65 million had been reported by at that time BBC Sport.
Mbeumo had shown in Brentford during his time, but he did not make the best start at Old Trafford and Gallas starts to question the logic to spend so much on him.
Many fans will certainly have been happy to see a talent like Mbeumo participate, but perhaps even in the summer £ 65 million looked a lot to pay for him.
Has Manchester United transferred to Bryan Mbeumo transfer?
Speak with gambling zone, as quoted by the MetroGallas made the kind of reimbursements that players move nowadays, apparently a good example with Mbeumo.
“They have Bryan Mbeumo, and the player is good enough for most parties, but I don’t know if you can justify those transfer costs,” Gallas said.
“They have spent a lot of money and not really changed too much of their first-choice XI.
“We are always talking about money these days and I know that prices continue to rise every year, but come on. This seems crazy.”
How does Mbeumo compensation relate to other similar players?
There were a few other left-wing rights who moved this summer, so how does the Mbeumo compensation relate to them?
BBC Sport Reported that the relocation of Noni Madueke from Chelsea to Arsenal was cheaper, at around £ 48.5 million, although he did not look so good in the Premier League as Mbeumo last year.
Anthony Elanga is another similar player style, but his relocation from Nottingham Forest to Newcastle was also cheaper at a reported £ 55 million, according to BBC Sport.
Tottenham New-Boy Mohammed Kudus was also cheaper, also at around £ 55 million, according to BBC SportThe report at the time.
Maybe Gallas has a point? Let us know your opinion in the comments!
