Conor McGregor has ended his break from social media and the first man in his sights is his old enemy, Khabib Nurmagomedov. McGregor and Nurmagomedov share one of the most polarizing and talked about rivalries in combat sports, a feud that has generated no shortage of tension over the years.
Although the pair collided in the Octagon at UFC 229 in October 2018, where “The Eagle” emerged victorious, more than seven years later, the tension still refuses to fade. The feud remains alive on both sides, constantly fueled by verbal stimuli.
“The Notorious” revealed last month that he embarked on a spiritual journey to prepare for his return to the Octagon, stepping away from social media and even deactivating his Instagram. A few days ago, the former two-division UFC champion returned to X, and he’s already taken the opportunity to throw some serious shade at Nurmagomedov.
For context, the UFC Hall of Famer recently released the launching traditional Dagestani papakha hats alongside a new wave of digital collectiblesincluding NFTs, via an exclusive Telegram drop. However, on Wednesday, popular MMA account Dovy claimed that Nurmagomedov quietly deleted all posts related to the NFT rollout on his social media platforms, apparently after raking in an eye-popping $4.4 million in winnings.
At the time of writing, no official statement from “The Eagle” or his team has surfaced regarding the allegations.
Conor McGregor Accuses Khabib Nurmagomedov of Making Money From Papakha NFTs
Conor McGregor was quick to seize the moment and waste no time in taking shots at Khabib Nurmagomedov. The Irish star took to social media and accused ‘The Eagle’ of using his late father Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov’s legacy to fuel an alleged ‘pump-and-dump’ scheme targeting his own supporters.

“There’s no way that good guy Khabib used his late father’s name and the culture of Dagestan to scam his fans and sell a bunch of digital NFTs online and then deleted all the contents after they were sold, robbing his fans of their money? There’s just no way a good guy could do this,” Conor McGregor wrote on X.
“The Notorious” continued the story in a separate tweet, drawing comparisons between Nurmagomedov and his longtime ally, newly crowned UFC welterweight champion Islam Makhachev.
“What a shame and a stain on his father’s name. Wow! Swindling fans who take advantage of his father and his country’s culture is just so base. Father’s scheme has now become Father’s scam. Very sad. On the other hand, it was great to see Islam Mack honoring his own father by putting the double world titles on his shoulders and saying, “There aren’t many fathers of double world champions!” Truth.”
