Master Drafs Trainer Anton Golino settles well to Menangle, because he shifted from Victoria some time ago and continued his winning ways when his smart mare Rakero Blaze (Bettor’s Delight) gave a sound to win the Mark Sketon Memorial Trotters Handicap in menangle Park on Saturday evening.
Driven by Inform Willon Rakero Blaze went directly to the leadership of Wijd and from that moment she always looked the one to beat.
In addition to Rakero Blaze, Golino had two other runners, namely Sheetweb Weaver and Leaf Stride who settled in the middle of the field before they run along the back.
New Zealand bred Johns Boy, who has been in the skilled hands of Brent Lilley, gave a strong challenge to the top of the house, but Rako Blaze held on desperate driving by Rixon to win a short half head with a hammer in third place.
Rakero Blaze August 1 Replay
It was Golino’s second victory in successive weeks as the week before he won with Leaf Stride.
Golino is known as a top trainer of trotters and his move to Menangle is a welcome addition to the trot of ranks for New South Wales, where trotters races are only performed on a limited number of traces. But the quality of the races has improved over the years and they are certainly here to stay.
Rakero Blaze was previously trained by Andy Gath after arriving from New Zealand before he transferred to Adelaide trainer Ryan Hryhorec and then joined Golino just before May of this year.

She has now won two for Golino at Menangle’s head office and although she seemed to do a lot wrong in her early stages with Golino, she has now settled in a capable and solid mare.
The victory was of special significance for Star Reinsman Will Rixon, who resulted in a career -total of 800 victories. Rixon has his best season so far and rode a classic front -rowing drive to accompany Rakero Blaze to her narrow victory.
