Combate Global will head to Burbank, California and move production to Miami, pending a new broadcast deal with Estrella TV.

Founded in 2011, Combate (formerly Combate Americas) is the brainchild of UFC co-founder Campbell McLaren, who serves as the company’s CEO. The promotion is aimed at the Latin American market and previously aired on Univision for six years.

Starting in February 2026, twenty live Combate Global events will take place in Estrella’s new network studio. The space can accommodate about 500 spectators, according to a report from the LA Times.

“It’s a bigger market, access to more talent, access to more talent behind the camera, access to more talent in front of the camera,” McLaren told the Times. “We feel like we’re making a big, big step.”

Combate has seen UFC talents like John Castaneda, Gustavo Lopez, Daniel Zellhuber and Erick Perez (who fought there between his UFC and Bellator stints) compete under his banner. Boxing star Amanda Serrano, who made a successful crossover into MMA, fought for the company twice in 2018 and posted a 1-0-1 record. Perhaps the most infamous fight, however, saw former UFC light heavyweight champion and Hall of Fame member Tito Ortiz defeat pro wrestling’s Alberto del Rio (fighting as Alberto El Patrón) in December 2019. Alberto, who plays Dos Caras Jr. competed for PRIDE, was submitted in just over three minutes in what would become “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy”’s final MMA fight.
