Addressing a virtual review meeting on issuance of e-Khata, conversion of B-Khata to A-Khata and matters related to property tax, Mr Rao said a special helpline – 9480683035 – has been set up to address e-Khata related complaints. Officials have been directed to ensure that every complaint received through the helpline is resolved within the stipulated time frame and monitored individually.
Mr Rao also asked officials to review all rejected applications to determine whether the rejections were justified and take corrective action if necessary. Immediate attention should be paid to new applications and those seeking conversion from B-khata to A-khata, he said, noting that faster removal would help improve the companies’ revenues.
Special Commissioner (Admin, Revenue and IT) Munish Moudgil said the helpline receives nearly 1,000 calls a day and issues flagged by citizens are monitored and resolved on priority. He said e-Khata applications should not be rejected without valid reasons and added that company reports on rejection patterns would be prepared to expedite pending approvals. Mr Moudgil added that commercial properties of major tax fraudsters in the five companies were sealed to collect dues while revision cases were being investigated to recover outstanding property taxes.
