The house at 210 point RD, Prahran, has a large back garden where the deceased owners have a part of the SO their son’s paving basketball.
A Prahran house full of cherished family memories sold for more than $ 2 million in the weekend.
Simon Conn sold the house of their deceased parents together with his older brother and sister.
Mr. Conn said his mother and father, Kerry and Michael, bought the house when he was 12 to be closer to his school.

At the time, the house stood with four bedrooms “straight on the edge” of what his parents could afford.
Mr. Conn’s uncle helped with $ 15,000, so that they were able to secure the real estate circa-1884 at 210 point RD, with original marble and wooden fireplaces, decorative plaster, a stained glass window and an underground wine cellar.
Mr Conn remembered that his parents, both enthusiastic gardeners, tore the existing greenery of the outdoor space and plant new trees and flowers.
They also paved a part of the back garden, so that he could practice basketball and bought him and his brother a pool table – so that the house made a popular place for their friends to visit.
“My parents were really inviting and inclusive for everyone who wanted to be in the neighborhood,” said Mr. Conn.
There is a leafy front garden, located behind a high fence.
Two living rooms, including a formal lounge and dining area plus a separate family room, are located at the front of the house.
The dining room opens to an undercover outdoor space.
And although the house is at a busy point RD, the high fence is good to block sound.
“Dad has a very large family, and we would often have Christmas or family insights, because it has a very nice, quiet backyard,” said Mr. Conn.
Prior to the auction, he said that selling the house would probably create mixed emotions, but he would be happy if it went to buyers who loved it as much as his family.
The real estate went under the hammer with $ 1.65 million-$ 1.8 million hopes.
The house is close to public transport, Chapel & Greville St’s Eateries and Shops, Wesley College, Fawner Park and Albert Park Lake.
There is an attic bed and desk in one of the bedrooms.
Bigginscott Stonsington director Michael Tynan said the bid opened for $ 1.6 million.
“Buyers were mainly attracted by several important characteristics of the property – the rich history, built in 1884, the impressive scale and period character, and the generous basic size of 450 m² with valuable access to the rear lane,” he said.
“During the campaign we also had a strong involvement of neighbors and even families who had previously had the house, which emphasized the lasting attraction of the building.”
Two groups competed for the keys, with Home eventually sold for $ 2,045 million.
