Chelsea would have to pay a big fee if they want to lure Julian Alvarez back to the Premier League, according to ex-Everton and Aston Villa chief executive Keith Wyness, amid reports that the Blues are still keen on a transfer deal.

That has been no secret in recent weeks CHELSEA have been heavily linked with a move for Julian Alvarez since news broke that Spanish giants Atletico Madrid would be open to letting the small striker leave the club during the summer transfer window.

However – CHELSEA are not the only club interested in a move for Alvarez at the end of the season, as there are also many more media reports claiming that Arsenal are actually in the chase to sign the striker for a fee of £82 million.

Now, amid all the speculation and rumors surrounding the rush hour, talking about the new edition of Inside Track podcast from Football InsiderWyness believes the striker would be worth the high fee Chelsea would have to pay for him.

He told Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast: “Yes, look, I know Julian Alvarez is very highly rated at Atletico Madrid.

“Everyone loves him, and he saved them in a lot of ways. Some big games. He’s a great player. If he were to come back, I think it would be a big move, but definitely worth it.”

“He’s good quality and I think he would fit in really well with them. But yes, he’s very highly rated, and it wouldn’t be cheap, but I think he’ll want to come back to Britain and I think he’ll set the Premier League on fire again, and I think that’s even more the case now that he’s had this spell at Atletico where he’s really made a big impact.”

There have been some new media reports claiming that Chelsea are hoping to sign Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus on a free transfer at the end of the season.

CHELSEA have spent a lot of money over the last few transfer windows, adding the likes of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap in an attempt to find that striker with the ability to score 25 to 30 goals a season.

But despite the impressive performances of Pedro and Delap, Chelsea will need to revisit that transfer window at the end of the season and look to sign a new striker who can lead the Blues’ front line.

Although Vlahovic has been a key player for Juventus last season, scoring 64 goals in 162 games, the Italian side are keen to shed his club-high wages of £350,000 per week.

Clubs across Europe are alert to Vlahovic’s situation and the TMW website reports that Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea have contacted the player’s representatives about a possible move to the Premier League in the summer.

Vlahovic was free to negotiate a pre-contract deal with foreign parties in January, but that obviously didn’t happen, but reports say the London duo are fighting for his signature. AC Milan are also keen and confident of a deal, despite Vlahovic’s interest in a move to England
