This will be Hooper’s first time fighting in the state since 2018 and although Hooper is from Washington State, Gibson Jr. specifically born in Seattle. This is despite the fact that the Canadian fighter calls British Columbia his home. The 9-2 professional MMA fighter will begin his second step into the Octagon after Gibson Jr. fell short in his UFC debut against King Green by split decision just a few weeks ago.
Conversely, Hooper is also looking to get back to winning ways after a setback against Alexander Hernandez at UFC 319 last August sparked a five-fight winning streak that Hooper rode.
Chase Hooper vs. Lance Gibson Jr. UFC Seattle matchup overview
Chase Hooper has been fighting in the UFC since December 2019, giving him local exposure with Gibson Jr., who debuted with the promotion in December 2025.
Lance Gibson Jr. is the son of a seminal figure within the Canadian mixed martial arts scene, with the pair of Gibsons becoming only the third father-son duo in UFC history to compete inside the octagon. Gibson Sr. competed in both UFC 24 and UFC 29 in 2000 and posted a .500 record across the two fights.
The headline clash for UFC Seattle will see 185-pound contender Joe Pyfer clash with a former multi-time UFC middleweight champion in Adesanya, Israel. Also featured in a high-stakes rematch between Alexa Grasso and Maycee Barber at flyweight, while Valter Walker vs. Marcin Tybura strengthens the card in a heavyweight affair.
Last year, the UFC returned to Seattle for the first time in more than a dozen years, headlined by the Henry Cejudo vs. Song Yadong bout last February.
