Prevent your screen from going dark

  • To make the crust, place the butter in a large saucepan and heat over high heat. Stir often. After about 3 minutes the butter will start to foam and brown spots will appear. Continue beating and once the butter is medium brown, reduce the heat to low and stir in the milk powder and any sweeteners to be added.

  • Beat the mixture well while gently heating it. Beat until the mixture is well combined. Remove from heat.

  • Let it cool slightly, but while it is still liquid, pour it into a parchment-lined 8-by-8 baking dish (otherwise it will stick). Place in the refrigerator to set.

  • Once completely cooled, remove from the refrigerator and cut into squares.
