Prior to their first Preservation match against the Seattle KrakenThe Vancouver Canucks announced various cuts in their training camp schedule. 9 players cut from training camp schedule

After this round of cutbacks, Braeden Cootes will continue to be the only pick of 2025 at the Roster and he will make his preseason against De Kraken tonight. Gabriel Chiarot, Aleksei Medvedev and Kulten Dervin were the others, but now all go back to their teams in the OHL. The regular season of the OHL started on September 18, so I am sure that their respective teams are happy to get them back, especially Medvedev at the London Knights. It is planned to be their starter after Austin Elliott went on to the NCAA to join Umass-Lowell. Riley Patterson will meanwhile become a member of his new team, the Niagara Icedogs, after being traded there late in the low season.

Regarding the others on the way to the AHL, Josh Bloom will want to play a full season in Abbotsford After having spent the majority of his time in the Echl with the Kalamazoo wings last season. Jackson Kunz, which was selected by the Canucks in 2020, will not be signed by the organization, but will try to start with Abbotsford and earn an AHL deal. He played one game with them at the end of last season and took on an assist against Bakersfield Condors.
