The incident took place on January 21, when the Dahihanda police received clues from the Akola Control Room and the Mumbai Cyber Cell about a video of a man consuming poison. On examination of the video, the man was identified as Krishna Raghu Palvi, 18 years old, resident of Burhanpur district of Madhya Pradesh.
A police team was formed and a search operation was launched in collaboration with cyber teams and social workers. About twenty minutes later, the man was found unconscious in a skullcap in Donwada village.
The teenager was rushed to a hospital where he was treated immediately. His condition is said to be stable and he is still receiving treatment. His family has expressed their gratitude to the Mumbai Cyber Cell and local police for their quick intervention in the case.
In another recent incident, a 35-year-old man tried to commit suicide by consuming poison in a local court in Mangaluru in Karnataka. He was involved in a domestic dispute with his wife, news agency PTI reported. Two days prior to the suicide attempt, the man allegedly tried to strangle his wife.
The alleged strangulation attempt prompted the police to take action. Divorce proceedings were reportedly being discussed and a case was likely to be registered.
Officials said the man was called to a police station. Instead, he allegedly went to a local court and consumed poison in front of a judge.
