Sacramento, Calif. President Donald Trump sends 300 National Guard -members from the California to Oregon after a judge blocked the administration to use the guard of that state in Portland, according to California Gov. Gavin Newsom.

Newsom promised on Sunday to combat the move in court.

There was no official announcement from Washington that the California National Guard was called and was sent to Oregon, just as was the case when the Governor of Illinois made a similar announcement about troops in his state that was activated on Saturday.

Newsom, a Democrat, said in a statement that California staff was on their way on Sunday and the commitment “called a breathtaking abuse of the law and power.”

“The supreme commander uses the US Army as a political weapon to American citizens,” Newsom said in the statement. “We will bring this fight to court, but the public cannot remain silent in the light of such a reckless and authoritarian behavior by the President of the United States.”

A federal judge appointed by the Trump on Saturday on Saturday temporarily blocked the Trump government’s plan to use the Oregon National Guard in Portland to protect federal property in the midst of protests after Trump called the city “destroyed by war.” Oregon officials and inhabitants of Portland said the description was ridiculous.

Judge Karin Immergut of the American district, who was appointed by Trump during his first term, issued the order pending further arguments in the court case. She said that the relatively small protests that the city has seen, did not justify the use of federal armed forces and allowing the commitment to be damaged the state sovereignty of Oregon.

The American immigration and customs enforcement building in Portland has recently been the site of nocturnal protests.

Trump has characterized both Portland and Chicago as cities full of crime and unrest, called the first a “war zone” and suggested that apocalyptic power was needed to suppress problems in the latter. Since the start of his second term, he has sent or spoke about sending troops to 10 cities.

Trump authorized the use of 300 Illinois National Guard troops to protect federal officers and assets in Chicago on Saturday.
