Chelsea host Ajax Amsterdam at Stamford Bridge tomorrow at 8pm UK time on matchday three of the Champions League as they look for their second win in the competition after beating Benfica 1-0 in the previous match.
The last match between the two teams in the European Cup ended in a 4-4 draw in London, but The Blues will be determined to take all three points from Ajax this time as they are a much better team compared to last time.
Here’s a look at their potential starting XI for the match.
Goalkeeper – Robert Sanchez is expected to get the nod in goal.
Defenders – Reece James has maintained good fitness, scoring and assisting for Chelsea in their Premier League match last weekend. Therefore, he will likely play as a right-back and be captain, while Marc Cucurella could also be deployed as the team’s left-back.
Josh Acheampong is steadily gaining the trust of Enzo Maresca and could start again, possibly alongside Trevoh Chalobah, to complete an unchanged foursome for the home side.

Given concerns over Enzo Fernandez’s fitness, Estevao Willian could be Chelsea’s number 10, with Cole Palmer also absent. Pedro Neto and Alejandro Garnacho, on the other hand, are expected to continue playing on the right and left wings respectively.
Come on – Joao Pedro received a red card against Benfica last time and is suspended against Ajax Amsterdam. With Liam Delap also injured, Marc Guiu could take charge at Chelsea.
