(Greetings on National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day. There are no chocolate cookies in the house, nor do I see one today on the horizon – certainly not buying the package in the machine from below at work. I will distract myself with cardboard valuation. This is the 355th in a series):

Continuation of my recent trend to devote cardboard appreciation to Oddball sets, here is another item – of which I knew it only existed last week.

I said a few messages that I was asked to judge a collection that was given to a thrift store in the church. The collection was once owned by a boy who is now 25 and mainly contained maps of the early 2000s until the mid -2010.

I also said that the colleague who asked me to view it gave me permission to choose some tickets for my own collection. I have added a handful – no more than 15. Many of them were known things that I already have, do not like or do not collect (especially football and basketball).

There were also a few strange things in the collection such as the card above, which came in a cellopae package with three cards. It was strange enough that I took it. A kind of marriage between MLB and Nicktoons. The Brandon Phillips card was the top card in the package. Here are all three:

Not the most exciting players or Toons. The only one I know is “Aang” and my daughter was not interested in “The Last Airbender” or one of those Avatar -runners.

But my daughter was once very interested in the Wii Game Console. She spent many hours playing and had all the gadgets. Thanks to her I probably played Mario Kart on the Wii hundreds of times (who also had cards), and she found other things I was willing to participate in such as Wii Golf or Bowling.

But I didn’t know there was a Wii Baseball-Nicktoons game.

I also did not know that the packaging in it advertised baseball cards inside:

That could have caused me to buy the game for my daughter, not at all -not!

Looking at TCDB, I found out that the Nicktoons/MLB cards were published in 2011 in the Wii game. There are nine cards in total, each with an MLB player with a Nicktoons character.

There is one dodger in the set, Matt Kemp (linked to a character called “Fanboy”). The only nicktoons on cards that I knew they were Spongebob, Stimpy, Aang, Danny Phantom and Patrick Star – several of them were in the air when my daughter Nickelodeon monitored every day.

I looked up the tickets on Comc, but just about all sold out. Then I looked at eBay and the available couple is not money that I would pay (looking at the completed sale, but they go for much less).

I am not interested in this – except the Kemp card. It’s just a nice little nostalgia from that time. I do not know where all Wii things went into the house and I see that the Wii was extinct about five or six years ago. You could have told me it was still going strong and I believed it. It was crazy 15 years ago.
