Slugger Eugenio Suárez returns to Cincinnati.
Suárez and the Reds have agreed to a one-year contract worth $15 million. The Post’s Jon Heyman confirmed this.
The contract includes a mutual option for the 2027 season worth $16 million, ESPN reported this.
Suárez was the biggest bat left on the open market, and he joins the Reds after hitting 49 home runs last season, though he struggled during the second half of the season.
Suárez spent seven of his 12 years in Major League Baseball with the Reds, playing in Cincinnati from 2015 to 2021.
The infielder split last season between the Diamondbacks and the Mariners.
He hit 36 home runs and batted .248 before the trade to Seattle.
Suárez went on to hit .189/.255/.428 and record 13 home runs in 53 games, with the Mariners following suit.
He finished the 2025 season with a career-best 118 RBIs, though he finished the year slashing .228/.298/.526.
ESPN reported that Suárez is expected to get the majority of his at-bats in Cincinnati as a designated hitter, with the Reds already having Ke’Bryan Hayes at third base and rookie Sal Stewart set to take over first base next season.
He spent two seasons with the Mariners from 2022 to 2023 before being traded to the Diamondbacks in November 2023.
