BYD has become the world’s first automaker who rolls out 13 million new Energy Vehicles (NEVs) and marks a monumental milestone in the global EV history. The milestone unit – a Yangwang U7 – rolled off the line on July 21 and not only symbolized BYD’s dominance in the NEV room, but also the rapid acceleration in the electric revolution.
BYD took only eight months to jump from 10 to 13 million NEVs – that with the 13 years it took to hit his first million. The total H1 2025 NEV turnover of the company crossed 2.14 million units, in which overseas deliveries with 128.5% yoj have risen to 470.086 units, which enhances the global footprint.
The 13 millionth vehicle, the Yangwang U7, shows the advanced technology from BYD, with functions such as the Disus-Z Intelligent Suspension, E⁴ platform, rear-wheel control and a horizontally opposite electric motor. Designed for high-quality luxury, the U7 emphasizes agility, safety and comfort-with which BYD’s ambitions in the Premium segment are considered.
Yangwang, Luxury EV Submerk from BYD, has already crossed 10,000 deliveries of units and continues to attract strong attention from both media and consumers.
BYD was founded in 1995 and is a vertically integrated NEV giant and builds everything from batteries to semiconductors in-house. It is also behind the Blade battery, launched in 2020, known for its LFP chemistry, thermal safety and 5,000+ load cycles.
With 120,000+ engineers and a ruthless urge for innovation, BYD not only makes cars – it leads a green mobility revolution, one electrified milestone at the same time.
