6/6 Buckhurst Ave, Point Piper, sold in June for $29.5 million, breaking the previous apartment record in the suburb by $7 million. Only now can the buyer be announced.
The Point Piper penthouse, owned by billionaire chicken widow Sue Ingham, fetched a mega-record price in June – now the high-flying buyer can be revealed.
The luxury full-floor apartment at 6/6 Buckland Ave sold for $29.5 million in June, breaking the Point Piper apartment record by $7 million when it was sold through Luke Hogan and Frazer Watson of McGrath Double Bay.
There are no indications as to the buyers, but with the property having settled today, several local sources have confirmed that former owner of luxury car dealership Trivett, Greg Duncan, and his wife Glenda will be moving in.
Duncan sold Trivett Group, which consisted of 22 dealers, in 2013 for $116 million. It was Australia’s largest prestige car group, selling Rolls Royces, Bentleys and Aston Martins.
Hogan, in partnership with Ashley Bierman of Ray White Double Bay, has the Duncans’ Alec Tzannes-designed Bulkara Rd, Bellevue Hill mansion for sale with a guide of $36.5 million.

The buyers of the Point Piper penthouse are Greg Duncan, former executive chairman of Trivett, Australia’s largest prestigious automotive group, and his wife Glenda.
The Duncans’ Alec Tzannes-designed Bulkara Rd, Bellevue Hill mansion is for sale with a guide of $36 million, down from $40 million in August, through McGrath’s Luke Hogan in partnership with Ray White Double Bay’s Ashley Bierman.
The Point Piper apartment seems like the perfect choice for the downsizing Duncans, who will no doubt appreciate the low-maintenance lifestyle and views of the 4,500-square-foot space, which offers four bedrooms, four bathrooms and a four-car garage.
It is located in a boutique block of just six waterfront houses known as Point Piper House, which has direct access to Seven Shillings Beach and also features a private swimming pool with fantastic harbor views.
The photos also show a lift providing direct access to the top floor apartment, a gym, beautiful outdoor terraces and large open plan living areas with lavish finishes.
Sue Ingham had purchased the penthouse for $12,245,000 in 2010, seven years after the death of her husband, Jack Ingham, who made his fortune after he and his brother Bob inherited a small chicken business in 1960 and turned it into a hugely successful business.
He and Bob were known as “Big Jack” and also co-founded the largest thoroughbred racing and breeding company in Australia.
The Buckhurst Ave penthouse has direct access to Seven Shillings Beach and also features a private pool with fantastic harbor views.
It offers 540m² of space.
Sue Ingham with her late husband Jack in 1997. She moves into the recently completed penthouse in the Piper development, which cost her $16.25 million.
Sue has now moved into a four-bedroom penthouse in the luxury Piper development in nearby Wunulla Rd, which was bought through Hogan for $16.25 million.
Jack’s daughter Sue Ingham (from a previous wife) sold her ‘private sanctuary’ in Darling Point for $14.05 million last November through Highland Double Bay Malouf director David Malouf.
The previous Point Piper apartment record was set in February with the $22.5 million sale of the Vilon penthouse through Sotheby’s director Michael Pallier and Mary Lin, showing the settlement was bought by property developer Fedor Czeiger and his wife Elizabeth, who sold for $45 million in Bellevue Hill.
The Duncans have owned their Bulkara Rd property for almost 30 years, purchasing the site in 1996 for $1.55 million.
The original house was designed by Ercole Palazzetti, but in 2013 they brought in Alec Tzannes for the major renovation.
The three floors are connected by a lift and the curved glass facade is designed to maximize views of the harbor and city.
Attractions include heated marble floors, an infinity pool and a range of outdoor terraces.
