Debbie joined Business Insider in 2019 and has built the business contributor team into one of the most creative and impactful in our newsroom, including this year with our Power hours and Tiny Teams series. Whether she’s jumping into the news or working on larger projects, Debbie consistently combines ambition and editorial rigor. She will continue to lead the business contributor team as well as take a leading role on more series in the newsroom.
With change comes opportunity. Bartie Scott, who heads our crackerjack economics team and this year our breakthrough team 80 over 80 series, has also led to the construction of our Inside business stories and quick features. We’re excited to pursue more of these ambitious pieces in 2026. We are opening a new role on the innovation team – one editor-in-chief at the economics office who reports to Bartie.
