Business Insider appoints Liebman as brand officer – Talking Biz News

I am pleased to announce that our Chief People Officer, Jess Liebmanwill take on a broader role as Chief People & Brand Officer, adding responsibility for the Business Insider brand to her responsibilities.Over the past two years, we’ve been rebuilding the Business Insider brand after many years as an ‘Insider’ – part of our ongoing journey to become the go-to publication for business, technology and innovation journalism. Our goal is to serve an optimistic, ambitious audience with content that is as smart and accessible as it is essential.

The Business Insider we’re building has the same foundation we started with: conversational, innovative and fun. But it must also evolve to reflect our growing ambitions and who we are becoming. We’ve made significant progress: we even have a brand book! – but there is still more to do. Such transitions do not happen overnight. Honing a brand takes many years.

Jess is ideally suited to lead our branding efforts; she knows the heart of Business Insider better than anyone. She’s been here since our early days and has helped shape the company we are today: building our culture, growing our team and leading change. Over time, she has developed an instinctive sense of what Business Insider is and is not. Ten times out of ten she succeeds. That clarity is rare and exactly what we need to move the brand forward.

As we work to deepen engagement with our audiences, we must be consistent in the way we show up at every touchpoint – from what we publish and how it is designed, to how we speak, operate and present ourselves in the world. As always, editorial decisions remain solely the responsibility of our editorial leaders. Jess’ focus will be on sharpening and unifying the way the brand is expressed everywhere we appear, ensuring it is cohesive, intentional and unmistakably BI.

Please join me in congratulating Jess on her new role. I couldn’t be more excited for her and what’s ahead for Business Insider!
