The 3 year old Mo city gelding sold to Meah/Lloyd Bloodstock, as agent for Mike and Jules Iavarone, TCC Stables and Morplay Racing. Brotha Keny entered the December sellout with a win in the November 25 Zia Park Derby, swinging wide and charging down the stretch to win by half a length for trainer William Morey and owners Lance and Steve Kinross.
“This is the type of horse you dream of owning, and they don’t often appear on the open market, so fair play goes to Inglis Digital USA for recruiting him,” said David Meah. “He has been a model of consistency this year since he got back on the field. Numbers don’t lie, and his are moving in a very positive direction.”
Brotha Keny won the Bourbon Flight Stakes on September 20 Churchill Downs and finished third in the Indiana Derby (G3) and West Virginia Derby (G3). In total, he has won four of thirteen starts and earned $499,528.
“His last three races have been huge performances, even the loss at Keeneland with compensation was a big run,” Meah said. “Then he came back to win the Zia Park Derby with a dominant performance. He’s only three and has a whole career ahead of him. We’re all happy, especially Jose D’Angelo, who will be the man to take over training from him now.”
Bred in Kentucky by Terrazas Thoroughbreds, Brotha Keny is bred from the seeded Northern Afleet mare Raramuri Princess, whose nine racing-age foals are all winners, including stakes winner Concealed Carry. Paramount Sales appointed Brotha Kenny as agent and he was made available for inspection in Morey’s barn Turfway Park.
“It’s great when a plan comes together,” says Paddy Campion of Paramount Sales. “Mr Kinross and I spoke before the Zia Park Derby about Brotha Keny as a sales prospect. A few days later the horse kept his end of the bargain, won that race and is now in the sales ring today.”
The most expensive broodmare at the auction was Sea rocket which sold to Tropical Racing for $65,000. The 4 year old daughter of In mischief is a half-sister of the grade 2 winner Royal spa and comes from the family of the grade 1 winner Sippican Harbour . She was presented with a foal from the debut crop of the 2024 Belmont Stakes (G1) winner Dornoch . Sea Rocket was presented by Noevale Farm and she was made available for inspection at the operation’s Lexington base.
In total, the December sale ended with 48 horses sold for an Inglis Digital USA record gross of more than $800,000. The record catalog showcased offerings from across the country, with horses made available for inspection in Arkansas, California, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, New York, Oklahoma and Pennsylvania.
Inglis Digital USA reported 40 different buyers for the horses that changed hands on Wednesday.
“What a great way to end the year with record sales for Inglis Digital USA,” said Kyle Wilson, CEO of Inglis Digital USA. “We have grown tremendously this year and we owe it all to our customers. We appreciate everyone who did business with us in 2025.”
Offers that ended below their reserves remain available for purchase on the Inglis Digital USA website.
