Brock Lesnar is back.

The controversial former UFC Heavyweight Champion made an unexpected return to WWE on Sunday evening in Summerslam when he appeared at the end of the main event match between John Cena and Cody Rhodes. While Cena searched in the admiration of his fans at Metlife Stadium in New Jersey, Lesnar’s music hit the speakers to the shock and surprise of those present.

Lesnar eventually marched to the ring that stared through Cena all the way before jumping in and the Peacemaker Star with its characteristic “F5” finish. He left the ring and the stadium without saying a word, but clearly Lesnar officially returns to WWE for a last run with Cena, who is planning to retire at the end of 2025.

The return reflected Lesnar’s another shocking appearance in WWE when he returned to the organization after his run in the UFC where he ruled as a heavyweight champion. That return in 2012 ended with Lesnar and also set Cena with his “F5” while making his first performance in WWE after leaving the wrestling eight years earlier.

Of course, Lesnar’s return came a few weeks after UFC Hall from Famer Daniel Cormier claimed that he was banned from the promotion.

“Brock is now on the forbidden list,” Cormier told Demetrious Johnson On his podcast. “Brock got into so many problems. You know what Brock did. I don’t tell you what Brock did. Brock is so many problems.”

Although Cormier never spoke with details, he probably referred to the current lawsuit by a former WWE -employee called Janel Grant, who in 2024 filed a Blockbuster right case against former owner and CEO Vince McMahon and claimed that she was sexually abused and was traded among other things.

Lesnar identified an amendment to the original court case as a prominent performer who is involved in some of the allegations against McMahon and John Laurananaitis, the former head of talent relationships for WWE.

In the extensive allegations, Grant claimed that McMahon shared explicit photos and videos of her with Lesnar, while the WWE tried to sign him again for a new deal. She also claimed that McMahon later told her that Lesnar would soon come to them as their next ‘Playmate’.

Although a number of disturbing allegations were increased, Lesnar was not actually mentioned as a suspect in the court case.

Now Lesnar is at least one run in WWE, probably to run back with Cena before he calls it a career at the end of the year.
